Otak-Otak Ayam @ Assam Pedas Melaka

~My normal air bandung and Shar's bandung soda~

Our second trip to Assam Pedas Melaka @ Au2 so we decided to order all the stuff we didn't order the last time. Time for something hot! Our menu:
  • Assam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri
  • Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi
  • Udang Sambal Petai
  • Otak-otak Ayam

~Zil making sure she has her drink ready to douse the heat~

The best thing about this place is ordering one portion of each dish is enough to share between 4 people. The Assam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri was definitely a better choice compared to our previous Ikan Pari experience. The gravy was nice and hot and sour. Both the Daging Salai and the Udang Sambal Petai were also high in the heat scale but not so much as to mask the flavours.

My only disappointment was the Otak-otak Ayam. I only ordered it out of curiosity since as far as I know Otak-otak is a fish-based food. Whoever invented the chicken version should not have done so. It tasted strange. Like an imitation trying to pass itself off as the real deal. It had a hint of the usual otak-otak taste but with a weird aftertaste. I also had the misfortune of biting into an udercooked pasty portion. Eurgh!

~Not a good idea~

I miss Otak-Otak Gelang Patah or Muar :(

||PICK OF THE DAY||

The world has gone ballistic over a "psychic" octopus and now Paul is probably the most famous underwater creature on the planet (beating Spongebob and Patrick). My friend Zakiah wants to salai him too ;)
