Went to buy breakfast at one of the many Nasi Lemak stalls near my house (just before the Taman Sri Gombak roundabout). There is one particular stall that seems to be doing better than the others.
The customers will usually arrive earlier than the vendor. Everybody lines up in 2 rows and waits for the owners to get everything ready. I went at 7.50 am and this was the scene that greeted me.
I admit, the Nasi Lemak there is delicious. Mainly due to the excellent sambal. They also have quite a variety of add-ons like "ayam masak merah, sambal sotong, sambal kerang, paru, daging, telur goreng". I usually have Nasi lemak ayam.
For some reason, the young man minding the stall today (usually it's a makcik and her daughter) was very rude. Probably he had a late night watching the World Cup and was annoyed to be up so early to sell Nasi Lemak. A bit sad, since I was very polite to him.
I notice this quite often with stalls that have alot of customers. They tend to be curt and sometimes even rude to their patrons. Almost as if they are annoyed that we are bothering them by buying their wares. So strange. I thought they would be happy to be busy. Go figure.

sera: shhh... so did I..uhuhu... terpaksa tidokan budak2 :(
Guess they are just stress out espcially if he is not used to selling Nasi lemak. Moreover so many customer queueing up...one say ayam one say sotong
smallkucing: true I guess.. that one not including the "sambal lebih, nasi kurang, ayam bahagian peha jer yer" etc etc..hehe
But still, I think if everybody is courteous to one another, the world would be such a better place :)
usually it will be like that, if their business is good, they will be rude. as if they were thinking that, they will be other people that want to buy their nasi lemak other than us.
Nia: that's the problem.. I guess.. they put lesser value on the customer.. when actually each person makes up their whole customer base
