Go team Malaysia!

Only noticed it was a stamp after I uploaded..hehe

Badminton
is probably the only sport I can play. Am pretty much a klutz at everything else. I guess co-ordination just isn't in my repertoire of skills. I'm not good at it but at least I can hold my own and hit the shuttle-cock enough times to simulate play.

The Thomas Cup is here again! Although personally I think badminton isn't really a good spectator's sport UNLESS Malaysia is playing (unlike tennis which can keep me glued to the television set for hours), I am also excited about the prospect of us reclaiming the cup on home soil.

Where were you in 1992, the last time we won the Thomas cup?

I was in London at the time. My father had taken us for one of his impromptu trips and he had decided to make the trip from Edinburgh to London. We had stopped of at many little towns along the way, always visiting the local tourist attractions and spending the night at inexpensive Bed & Breakfasts. For some reason, that particular day, we ended up at Malaysia Hall. Initially, we planned to stay the night but it was TOTALLY PACKED. I remember walking into the hall and seeing so many people jumping up and down and shouting and singing and waving the Malaysian flag. I actually did not have a clue what was going on. My father told me we had won the Thomas Cup. Big deal, I thought, at the time I was miffed because due to all the chaos, there was no satay for dinner (I had been in the UK for 4 years by then and missed eating satay so much, and my parents had promised me that Malaysia Hall had satay). Ok, don't hate me for my lack of patriotism at the time.. I really was craving for satay!

I made up for it though, during the 1998 Commonwealth Games, when they started showing the "Jika kau fikirkan kau boleh?" song/advertisement, I cried everytime that played on television. Actually, the song still brings tears to my eyes. Shh.. don't tell anyone.

PS: I hope we win it this year! :)
