My father went to China last week (since Tuesday) and arrrived back home in the wee hours of this morning. The kids were up at the crack of dawn as usual. It doesn't matter if it's a school day or a weekend, they never sleep past 6.30 am. No chance for me to catch a couple of extra minutes of shut-eye either.
Everybody was so excited. Yousof and Aishah were old enough to expect gifts but Hamzah just laughed in delight when he saw his grandfather. At that age of innocence, to be re-united with his Tokki was enough for him.
The morning bathing ritual went like a breeze today because everybody was so excited to open up Tokki's bag to see what was in it. Sure enough, there were goodies galore.
Hmm.. I dunno quite what to think..
"Senyum macam ni ke Ummi?"
All black (Aishah is 3 and she already has a black Gucci dress- not fair..hehe)
Hamzah's new threads
I got a Chanel handbag, Chinese cotton (yeay!) and Chinese silk
Abah bought for the whole family- other pics not included
My father is constantly jet setting across the globe. He has never returned home empty handed. For me, it's not the gifts that matters, it's the thought that counts. I know it may sound corny but it's true. That's just the man that he is. When my brother and I were younger, and my parents went for those fancy dinners and buffets, my mother used to tell me that my father could hardly eat because we were not there. (Hence, they were probably the only guests to ever tapau a buffet home.)
That's how things should be. Love is remembering when apart, and a delight in making others happy.
