Breakfast on the corner

"I'm late ..I'm late for a very important date.." -White Rabbit (Alice in Wonderland)

Mornings are usually a blur for me. A flurry of activity. I have an impossibly long list of tasks to complete and even waking up before sunrise (5am) daily does not help me to get out of the door on time. So breakfast at home is impossible.

No worries, breakfast is also a meal greatly reverred by us UKM wondergirls. Amongst my favourite places to buy breakfast is "Kakak Nasi Lemak" (hehe, I should really ask for her name huh?).

Her stall is on the corner of Chow Kit. A brisk 3 minute walk from campus.

Waiting for me?

She sells, nasi lemak, nasi goreng, mee goreng, mee hoon goreng with fried egg, sambal kentang, sambal sotong, sambal kerang and ayam sambal. My personal favourites are her mee hoon goreng and nasi lemak (I can never really decide which one is better). What makes her food special is the amazing sambal. It is just the perfect degree of hot with a little sweetness (think of Kelantanese sambal but less sugar).

Today's breakfast - such a large portion

Always sold out by 9am

Don't worry, I don't have her nasi lemak or mee hoon EVERYDAY, if so I would be the Michelin Man in no time...

Too much nasi lemak?
